Circus Made in Vienna
TRAP presents Circus Made in Vienna: three short excerpts, three different artistic approaches.
Floating in Space – Anna Biebl
What happens when the stage space itself becomes a partner in play? In Floating in Space, bodies encounter inflatable sculptures, balloons and other inflatable objects. These floating, growing and transformable objects function both as props and as an interactive stage design. In her choreographic research, Anna Biebl explores the relationship between body, material and space, creating a fragile, playful world in which the boundaries between object, movement and environment are constantly shifting.
CIRCUMVOLUTION – Sasha Parkhomchuk
CIRCUMVOLUTION combines contemporary circus, dance, live music and voice into a poetic audiovisual stage experience. Between pain, play and togetherness, a space emerges in which vulnerability is not seen as weakness, but as a starting point for change. The performance moves through states of resistance, resilience and transformation, asking what it means when bodies reach their limits — and move beyond them.
Polyphony – Rosalía Ramos & Lelia Taha
How many versions of ourselves emerge when we speak several languages? Polyphony explores language as a place of identity, belonging and transformation. Drawing on the artists’ own experiences, Rosalía Ramos and Lelia Taha combine rope, voice, acrobatics, dance, dombra and loop station. A polyphonic research between different languages, cultures and bodies — inspired by Italo Calvino’s Invisible Cities and by the question of how we tell ourselves anew when we find another language.
